After manual Froyo update, screen went blank until power cycle/ audio continued

After I manually updated to Froyo, most things are working great with a few exceptions and one issue I hope does not happen again. I am wondering if anyone else has seen this issue. I was watching a YouTube video on the updated player. All of a sudden, the screen went blank (not the normal kind) but the audio continued. No matter what I did, the screen would not come back on. I could hear the sounds of the buttons being pressed and I was able to "feel" my way to shut the phone off, which worked as I didn't want to remove the battery except as a last resort. It has not done it again so far. Anyone else out there experience the same?
