I noticed after toggling 4G to 3G using the app Phone Info, my text messages were being sent, but I was not recieving the text messages back. Anyone else have this? I'd like to keep it on 3G mostly, because it does make a difference on the battery.

I cannot find this setting. Where is it?

dial *#*#4636#*#*, go to phone information and scroll down and choose CDMA Auto (PRL) from the little drop down.

You are a lifesaver. Thanks a million. I am in 3g and a few of my apps are all now working. I won't even ask where you found out about this code.

Aw... he was probably just entering random numbers and happened upon this series of numbers! Haha... :D Probably!

Seriously, THANKS to the OP. I've been reading a number of requests about how to get into this service screen, but up to now, no one knew!

WOW! your a lifesaver I am in a very good 4G area but wanted to switch to 3G to save battery. Thank you so much!

I think this is a good idea. I can switch to 4g with a few taps on the screen when I need speed.

Grab the market app called "phone info". It takes you straight to the settings screen you want without having to remember what code to dial.

I put the code as the phone number for a Contact named, guess what... Mr Phone Info! hehe... I still can't simply "call" the contact, but it is there for me to remember. :)

This is my first time here and I am also having the problem. Could you please tell me the number to call. I tried #those numbers and that didnt work. Then I tried just the numbers and it didnt work.

Paintblrules09 did you enter star, pound, star, pound 4636, pound, star, pound, star.? I think that is how it goes.......

Just FYI, I did this because I spend a lot of time away from home in a poor signal area. Problem I ran into is that the internet access locked into 1x signal strength, and would not connect at 3g even though another device right next to it would. After I changed this setting back to AUTO, it connected at 3g speed. Just posting this in case it helps someone.
