Hi all,

A few days ago I had an update installed automatically.
After that, every time an app is minimized it has this animation that I think it's called splash, and it looks like the screen shrinking to the icon. I hate it and I'm looking a way to remove it.
Anyone knows how?

The second annoying new thing is that now my fingerprint sensor acts as an action button. Wtf
I have a pixel 5, the sensor is on the back. Everytime I press on it by accident the notification menu comes down!
Terrible.
How can I disable these things?
Thanks

Welcome to Android Central.

I don't think you can control individual animations, well not any stock way. You might be able to pick and choose animations using a launcher, something like Nova Launcher. You can affect all animations via Developer Options. I want to warn you that fiddling with Developer Options can cause serious issues so do your research and only make changes that you understand. To access Developer Options open your settings, scroll down to About Phone/Device find and tap on your build number 7 times. In the list you'll find controls for Animation Speed, where you can simply speed up the animation, where it won't be so annoying if it was just over faster. There is also a setting for Animation Level, where you can reduce or even turn off animations. Again these settings affect all animations. You can find more online about developer options and affecting animations in just a few searches.

Unfortunately I don't have any advice on the fingerprint reader other than to be careful and possibly adjust your grip. It may take some getting used to but the easiest thing would likely be to avoid it. Of course if you register we could move your thread to Pixel forums where other Pixel users might have other advice. To receive notifications when others reply to your thread and to leave comments of your own please take a minute to create an account. It will help you communicate and get help. Hi. I'm the OP.
I installed Nova and the annoying animattions are gone. Thanks.

Also I disabled the "swipe fingerprint sensor for notifications" gesture.

Thank you!

See this thread about the animations: https://forums.androidcentral.com/g...annot-disable-icon-animation.html#post7053050. It might have to do with the March update, because my 6 Pro that's still on February doesn't have that issue if I turn off animations, but my 3a XL on the March update does do that (even after turning off animations in the Developer Options).

I'd send feedback to Google using the Help & Feedback option in the system settings.
