Question After Update SD Card is Unsupported

I Have just run an update on my Samsung A23 and it now states that the SD card is now unsupported it is the same SD card since I have had the phone why is this

Welcome to Android Central! Had you done any hacks to format that card as internal storage? (This is typically not possible on Samsung phones, but I think there are some workarounds to do it.) Or were you only using it as portable storage?

Next steps :
Try ummounting it, then remounting.
If unsuccessful, try a known good SD card to rule out hardware failure.

Also, try removing the card from the phone and inserting it into another device, like a PC. Can it be read there? If so, backup any important files. Then reinsert the card into the phone and see if you can reformat the card.

External ports are sometimes disabled at public libraries to prevent infiltration of malware.

Hi have just bought a new SD Card and that has worked fine
The new SD card came with an adapter and I have used this but can not read the old SD card on my laptop so it looks like the old SD is broken which is a pity as it holds all my phots and music.
Any one know how to get this working.

I got a couple of them working after wiping with a lens cleaning cloth, blowing both the SD card & insert tray – with air can, and then continually reinserting them – while rebooting the phones . . . until they suddenly/inexplicably became readable again!
At which point I quickly backed-up and copied—all that was on them—to a laptop and/or internal storage, before trashing the malfunctioning micro SD cards.

Unfortunately, you've learned what we often say here -- SD cards are inherently less reliable than internal storage, external hard drives, or the cloud. One should never rely on a card as the sole storage for important data -- always have it backed up somewhere else as well.

I have tried various options but to no avail so it is another failed SD card.

I did have a backup that was old so have not lost everything.

What brand are these failed SD cards? Where did you purchase them? Many SD cards sold on eBay or by Amazon Marketplace sellers are counterfeit. If the price looks too good to be true, it probably is.

SD cards can easily be corrupted even by a software update while in the phone, that's why Manufacturers have moved away from them but you still see them in budget devices that don't come with a lot of memory.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I agree with @mustang7757 that corruption unfortunately is common and is why manufacturers are moving away from SD card slots.
