After updating my Nexus 5 to Marshmallow, how am I supposed to hang up the phone?

A

AC Question

After updating my Nexus 5 to Marshmallow, I can no longer hang up the phone. The screen stays black when I move it away from my face. I have to unlock my phone or wait for the other person to hang up.
Also, the screen doesn't always go to sleep anymore when it should.

Well, the 'stays dark on phone calls' thing is often something going on with the proximity sensor. The other issue, not sure.

Have you done a Factory reset? While the OTA to 6.0 preserves data, it's usually best practice to go in and do a factory reset when it is complete.

Well, it worked perfectly good on previous versions, and I see same issue with Marshmallow as well.

OK, popped my SIM in my Nexus 5. I'm not having the issue. When I bring the phone down, the screen comes back on.

Now I did do a reset the other day, because LeoRex helped me root the phone .

I would try a reset.

Oh, not saying it didn't.... just letting you know the most likely cause of that type of call issue. And as I mentioned before, I would go through a full factory reset. Yes, it's a royal pain in the back side, but across all the different phones, doing a factory reset on a major upgrade is a smart thing to do. Yes, people have upgraded without bothering to reset and have never so much as sniffed a problem, but that is not always the case.

I have the same issue. I reset my phone after I got the 6.0 OTA.
