● New theme and widget Library.

In aHome 4.0, not only is your theme library renewed, but we also set the widget as a separate library. Now, you can pick up any widgets you like from these libraries.

● Switchable home layouts.

With aHome 4.0, you can easily switch your android home layout to iPhone style anytime you want.

● Controllable default home.

Now, you don’t have to be bothered about how to set aHome as your default launcher program. Just turn switch on aHome settings everything will be done for you.

● Hint System

aHome 4.0 offers two hint options for missed calls and unread messages. One of them is on the top of home, and the other is corner number on app icons.

maybe you can help me. i downloaded apk file, but when i went to install it didnt work just opened the file

I'll give it a spin if I get time after work this evening. I'm afraid it may take quite a bit to pull me away from LauncherPro, however....

Make sure the file isnt named as a zip file. Thats what happened to me and I had to rename it to an .apk file. Then it worked like a charm. I am about to start testing this on my Evo then my Captivate later.

new to the whole installing apk

anyone help me figure out how to install this? I'm new to the whole trying out beta builds/ installing non-market apps. A link would prove very helpful. Thanks in advance

Update: just had to rename it from a .zip to .apk

All I did was got on android central with my X and clicked on the link and it downloaded to my phone. Then you have to hit the settings button to install. Thats all. Hope this helps.

not a bad home replacement application, i was not able to get live wallpapers to work, so i'm not going to use it, but it was very smooth (which is very important to me) and had some nice UI features. also i was not too much of a fan of the 'skin' that was used in the setting of the application. and i was unable to get the texting icon on the docking bar to use chompsms instead of the default texting application. Going to keep using LauncherPro until it gets a little bit better.
Using a Droid X btw

Be nice if it had resizable widgets. Other than that i like it. Wish it was a little smoother. But its beta too. Thanks for letting us try it out.

I used Ahome back in the day. Then switched to LauncherPro because it was a lot better. Now I see this and thought I would give it a try, and just wanted to let you know this will be my home from now on. Amazing work!

EVO 4G

I don't think so. I have searched hi and lo in the app itself. Its still in the beginning stages. Maybe that could be something they could add in.

Well I took a quick look I'm not sure weather its due to it being beta but a lack of live wallpapper support instantly puts me off they give my device some depth.
However i do like the new UI the fact you can customize the bottom bar (but adding gmail just kept telling me that the app wasn't installed made me ponder as it's the one I use the most!). Its iPhone feel style is nice (not my taste I hate apples). Both bottom bar styles look a little 1 dimentional, it makes the phone feel rather flat compared to the apps I added or the rest of the phones UI maybe give it a little depth and icon reflection would polish this of nicely, and 4 icons of your choosing bodes well for the iPhone style adding 4 to the other style also would be good. If your a clutterbox like me then 9 homescreens is handy. But its just not enough to make me ditch sence sorry. However if you have that dang awfully moto blur once there's a few decent themes for this you'll love it.
It dose seem to me that the majority of the interface polishing has been done on the setting UI and very little on what you actually look at most of the time ie: the home screen.

It installed fine and looks good. There are two problems I have with it, though:

1) Nowhere near as many configuration options as ADW or LauncherPro
2) It keeps resetting my wallpaper back to the default grass one

It's a good start, but it needs some work to get up to speed with the two aforementioned launchers.
