Alarm clock can't be snoozed or dismissed?

I have had this happen a couple times to me, and I do not see anything in the forum, so it may just be me.

My alarm went of this morning as usual, I snoozed it, and before it went off again, I picked up my phone and was checking my e-mail. The alarm went off again, but I did not have any option to snooze, or dismiss the alarm? I am fairly new to android, so I am not sure if there is some kind of "alt-tab" to switch between my home and the alarm. I could not figure it out. I tried to go into the alarm screen and do it there but, nope not there.

Any ideas would be wonderful!

I had this happen just this morning as well, I ended up having to shut the phone down and restart it

This happens to me a lot and the only way I've gotten the alarm to turn off is powering off the phone. A fix would be awesome.

Has happened to me too, and as everyone else said, I had to turn off the phone to shut it up.
