Alarm Clock Failing?

I've had this phone since Mid-November. Since buying it, I've had various problems. My most concerning issue at the moment is the alarm clock. I've had 2-3 occasions where the alarm I set before bed never goes off. The most recent time was this morning. I had 3 alarms set, so it's not like I slept through them. I read somewhere else that using a Task Killer can interfere with it if it shuts it off overnight on you. I do have a task killer, so I made sure to add the clock app to the "Ignore List" just in case. BUT...the other 1-2 times it didn't go off was before I had a Task Killer so I don't think that's the issue. Of note, I turn on my alarms every night (I don't use a repeating alarm because I'm paranoid about it not going off properly). One other thing I noticed this morning: when I woke up on my own about 15-20 mins later than I should have, I noticed that there was a difference between the time in the Circles clock and the status bar clock. I reset the phone and it fixed the time differences, but I don't want that to happen again if it's the cause for the alarm failure. I don't remember if that issue happened the first couple times in the past the alarm didn't work. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have any fix ideas? For the time being, I'm going to start using a dedicated alarm clock as well in case the phone craps out on me again. Sorry for the long post; please help.

Just in case DELETE the task killer. Google has made it clear that no task killer should be downloaded. I never had an alarm issue so I'm clueless as to why it would fail without it too.

I can't find the original page but this explains it although I'd avoid them all together.

HTG Explains: Why You Shouldn’t Use a Task Killer On Android

Interesting.I'm going to try that watchdog app it recommends because I have noticed improved battery life since I started using the task killer and I don't want to lose that.

Believe it or not, the battery life on my razr maxx hd has been nowhere near what is advertised by Motorola and other users with the phone. Verizon tested it and told me it's fine, but I get barely over 12 hours with normal use, so it's def not right. Oh well. Nothing but issues with this phone for me.

My alarm clock was working fine.

Installed a Task Killer.

Alarm randomly stopped working.

Read up more on Android. Realized Task Killers aren't needed and just cause all sorts of problems anyway. Android manages memory just fine.

Removed Task Killer.

Alarm works fine again :)

Something's not right because I would get to bed with 54% battery left after heavy usage and being off the charger from 8 AM to 10 PM.

How much screen time?

If I have more than 6 hours of screen time, which has happened a couple times, then 12 hours isn't out of the question. Or maybe 5 hours with 4g. Or 4 hours with bad 4g connection. Depends on a lot of things.

Definitely not 6 hours. Maybe 4-5 tops. Because of the battery issues, I leave WiFi off unless I'm in my apt, I have screen brightness at 0% 24/7 (impossible to use phone outdoors), data off when not in use, and I put it in airplane mode when I'm underground on the subway. I go above and beyond to save battery life and I really shouldn't have to with this phone. Like I said, it has gotten better since I installed the Task Killer (which is why I'm reluctant to remove it entirely) and I took it to Verizon, who insisted the battery was fine on their phone call test. But again, I barely make phone calls so I don't think that's an accurate test for my battery.

By the way I did just uninstall the task killer and downloaded that watchdog task manager. We'll see if it comes up with anything.

4-5 hours of screen time if most of that is surfing the web may be normal. But at the lowest brightness I still feel like something may be wrong with the battery. Depends how much is web surfing, video, etc.

I would say a good mix of web surfing (+ Facebook), some "battery-light" games like sudoku, and using QuickOffice to study files I have on my phone. Plus, I listen to music (on device, not streamed) for about 1.5 hrs/day during my commute to/from work. Today was a really good day for my battery. Been off the charger for 11 hr 28 mins with 5 hr screen time (0% brightness the whole time), and my phone is still at 45%. But, out of that 5 hr screen time, probably 10 mins tops was web surfing. The rest was all data off, only studying via QuickOffice. So, I don't really think 45% left is impressive, but for the way my phone has been, it's a lot for me.

I have the same problem. My alarm?s not working either. If I set the alarm to go off in 10-15 minutes it works but if I set the alarm for next day or more than an hour ahead, it only says bib once and then goes silent!!! HELP what to do? I've had a task killer on my phone but it's now uninstalled after reading in here but that does not help????

try resetting your phone by holding power and volume down button untill the phone shuts off

It worked....all the times I tried it. But this morning it was the same old ****...NO alarm!!! only the visual of it without a sound..:(..........:(. Grrrr

Are you putting your ring volume on silent instead of vibrate? That could be an issue. I personally don't use my phone as an alarm(for this reason lol)

nope, it's not on silent or on vibrate. And it stille doesn't work..:(.....I've had the phone for over a year now. This week is the first time I experience it's failing to work. :(

Remove the Facebook app, it abuses the oom killer and practically causes it to kill all background apps

Silent does not disable alarm sounds.
