I've been using my stock clock alarm for years with great results. Reliable, loud, always wakes me up. Recently the alarm volume has been going off at about half volume. I've double checked it's volume in settings and it's full, and I've reset it. Still half. I have the box checked Alarm In Silent Mode. Even have the ringer on full. Still half. I've cleared the app cache...... I've downloaded a couple of other alarm apps and none of them allow me to set a short alarm (5 mins.) and automatically sets for that time the next day, so I've un-installed them and am trying to fix the stock one I have. Any ideas?

Think I figured it out. I went into the main Settings page>Apps>Clock and hit uninstall updates, and it asked me if I wanted to use the stock clock (which it was already), and the alarm volume is back.

I also re-intsalled the updates, and the low volume came back. Fixed it again by un-installing the updates. I think its a problem with the new alarm supposed to get louder and louder as it goes off. Mine just doesn't get louder. Now I just need to figure out how to stop getting notifications for updates......

Update: Mine does get louder it just takes way too long to do it. There seems to be a lot of people complaining about this. Hopefully they will fine tune this next update........

This is HTCs doing. They have really screwed up this app with the gradual volume increase. Just read the comments on the Play store. I have uninstalled the updates to this app. Hopefully htc fix this. Or at least make it an option to have gradual volume increase.

To clear up confusion, there was an update to the app from HTC. They incorporated a volume ramp up so as the alarm starts it will sound softer, then as time passes the volume starts increasing.
It's on the release notes....
