Alcatel Joy 2 Tablet Touchscreen Unresponsive At Times

I have an Alcatel Joy Tab 2 running Android 10, and sometimes when I unlock the lockscreen, the screen will require a hard tap for it to respond. Does anyone else experience this issue? If so, what do I need to do to correct the problem? I have increased the pointer speed to the maximum, but it won't do anything. Thank you for your time.

I have the same issue except mine is constant. It never goes away. Have to press hard or hard tap. Pointer is maxed out, no screen protector. Still does it in safe mode. Has been factory reset and still it persists. Very frustrating to type on.

Welcome to Android Central! In the system settings, is there an option for "Screen Protector Mode" or something similar? Even though you don't have one on, a mode like this might help, because it would increase the screen sensitivity somewhat.

Also, this may sound odd, but have you tested to see if other people also have problems with their taps being registered? If they don't have problems but you still do, then it might have to do with how dry your skin is. Really dry skin can interfere with touchscreen function, since it relies to a certain extent on the oils on your skin to change the capacitance on the screen.
