Just a friendly heads up if you can't wait another 11 or so hours, if you have a 3rd party Verizon sales business in your area you may be able to walk in and walk out with a Xoom.
1 month at min data, off contract, came to $965 w/NY state sales tax, though with a $100 rebate. The only caveat is don't attempt to activate it until 10:30AM ET time. My g/f just picked it up for me, pics to come around 9/9:30PM ET when I get home from work!!!!!
This is how I'll sum up the Xoom: (this will be on going...)
This thing is amazing. It's super fast. The screen is great but the backside of it and screen itself are a magnet for fingerprints and there's a good amount of glare/reflection on the display.
A lot of the apps now won't get off the ground, this is a little disappointing but I kind of figured.
It feels great in the hand, I have big hands and one handed use is do-able but two handed use is sweet. I actually don't mind it long ways - like a peace of paper it just seems easier to type like that for some reason and makes me feel like I'm in ST:TNG.
It boots up very fast, faster than aosp gingerbread.
The orientation switching is OK and some apps (the market) are native to just being horizontal. The browser seemed like it was ready to switch back and forth at ease which was nice.
I think they should of included more wallpapers, especially brighter ones, the Xoom looks kind of depressed by default.
Update: It appears you can access the internal memory space via external USB and honeycomb at the same time! Sweet. (as in it doesn't need to mount to USB then back to the Xoom).
Video: YouTube - Xoom (I apologize for the blurryness here, using the Evo to record)
