As the title suggests, I'm having a problem with severe battery drain.
Posting here has been my last resort as I have searched online, & have come up empty. And this is happening after 2 factory resets.

I, like most on this forum, know my phone inside out. It pretty much consumes most of my time, & I know when something is not right.

About 2 weeks ago I had a pretty bad battery drain all of a sudden. Most of the time when that happens, its an app that just continuously runs in the background, & a simple restart of the phone clears it.

My usage on the phone had me plugging it in about the time I headed home from work, so I got just about a days worth of work, games, & social media before having to plug it in. I have had this phone since launch & it has been this way since then. But 2 weeks ago I started having to plug it in about lunch time ,& then again sometime in the evening, with "Android OS" & "Bluetooth" as the hogs. Since April, "Bluetooth" has never been in the battery stats, until now.

I first tried clearing the app cache & that didn't work. I then cleared the cache partition, & still nothing. I have since then factory reset twice, & am still having problems.

Just wondering you guys thought. Is it possible that my battery has just gone bad & it doesn't have the juice it once did??

If you leave it plugged in do you see any runaway apps? If you have already have a runaway app, does it stop when you plug it in?

It's not an app. I have factory reset it twice. Any "runaway" apps should have stopped.

Have you tried it without bluetooth running maybe for the day? Just to eliminate that possibility if nothing else. Seems I recall someone else saying awhile back that bluetooth suddenly became a battery hog completely out of the blue.

Yup, I figure it's not. But if you don't see the runaway apps when on the charger or if a runaway app stops running away when it is plugged in, then it may well be a bad battery giving low voltage. If plugging the charger in has no effect to the runaway process problem then it probably is not a power issue.

When you check settings->battery what do you see that is using your battery power? Google Services or Facebook app?

That's what the picture above shows. Facebook is no where to be found. 39% drain in 4 hours, & all stats are only 1%.

looks like your battery "died"

Are you charging it all night? when my gf's My MyTouch 4g battery started doing what your phone is doing was after she started charging it all night. We physically took the battery out and it was warped so we knewe that was the problem, unfortunately you can't check like she could've

That's what I was afraid of. To me, the battery "dying" made the most logical sense. I try not charge it all night. I will plug it in when I go to bed, & will usually unplug it when it get up with the dog, usually around 02:00.

I dropped to 82% in 2.75 hours with only 12-15 texts, no calls, internet browsing... It says 14 hours remaining but i doubt it. The phone is only 7 days old

My battery usage is screen 3%, Android System 2%, Google, MyFitnessPal, SmartThings and Android OS all at 1%, that's it

Thoughts?

samsung I believe warrants the battery for a year so what I did with my 1st s6 waso send it in 4 repair and they will fix it free of charge

I also purchased the Samsung protection plan, so that will probably be my next step.
