Allowing certain contacts to ring when phone is on silent

Im using a note 5 and I remember on past phones i was able to allow certain contacts to be able to ring even if the phone is on silent mode. However i cant find anything on how to do it other than to change my default notification to a "silent" ringtone, and change the individual contacts to have actual ringtones. I am a caregiver and need to be able to always hear calls from a specific contact. However sometimes i would like to silence everyone else so im not distracted. Is it possible to do this?
