Hello Android Central! I'm a new Inspire owner and love it, ...thus far! Can't say that I am an expert or close to what a tech novice is, - but I am learning and willing to spend the time necessary to have my "desire"('d) Inspire function like the brilliant device it is.
This is my first android, and my first serious bill with AT&T. And as a newbie, I did what all newbie's do and purchased a 2G data plan, that OBVIOUSLY doesn't allow tethering, -that's extra. I purchased unlimited texting, in order to receive the 450 min landline plan with unlimited cell to cell, and 5000 nights and weekends.
I randomly was searching for app's for "HTC Inspire 4G" and came accross several tethering forum to allow pc internet usage, but because i have the data plan - the way the forums say to set it up is the same as the way my phone is set up!! ...Any Ideas? ...Both media net and mms cingular are locked by at&t, but I was able to add a new apn however, with the settings being the same, I could not get the data/tethering to work for free to cut down on my bill.
Anyone know how to make this work for real? And a Current way? That AT&T hasn't discovered and changed for new owners not to be able to use? ...I mean, I further researched and found YouTube videos on how to get any app for free and also tethering but, those particular downloadable apps from the market are no longer there. I know this is July and these videos were put up in Jan... so? Any suggestions forum user experts for other Inspired users like myself?
