I've always liked the Alpha but thought at $600+ it was overpriced.

AT&T has wisened up and dropped the price by nearly half to $320 which makes the Alpha a pretty good deal if you want an iPhone 5s sized handset.

So I said "Why not?" and grabbed one for when I want a small handset.

Anyone else notice the price drop? Think its now priced appropriately?

I picked up a brand new one on ebay for $299. I agree. I really liked the phone but not for the price. I think the new price is an incredible deal

I'm really liking it as a nice complement/alternative to my Note phablets. Its nice and fast, has a good design, and a replaceable battery. The screen looks good too, even if its not 1080p. I'm very glad I noticed the price drop.

Oh goody! I guess I will be getting a notice that my phone will be paid off, long before it was supposed to be. I balked at the price of over $600 but because I liked the phone, I opted for a plan that just added $20 a month to my bill until it was paid off.

I really will stop by AT&T and see what my options are. If they don't make some sort of adjustment, they may just lose a customer.

I don't think they're likely to reduce your Next balance or refund the difference to customers that paid the original price. It's somewhat typical for device prices to change and lower over time.

Now, if you just got your device less than 30 days ago, yeah, they may make some kind of adjustment for you.

Yes, I saw this and had both my in laws upgrade from their old phones. Both were having issues and they were due (they were using a S2 and Captivate Glide). Also, they marked down all cases by 50%. The Alpha is being discontinued, so hurry if you are interested.

Yeeeuuup, picked one up a few days ago. gorilla glass 4, 2 GB ram, 32 GB ram (I'm good with that), 801 processor. Descent 12 megapixel camera and 4.7 inch display. Add to that a gorgeous metal frame. Where else can you purchase a compact device with that sec for $330? I sprung $50 for the 2500 amh extended battery kit (waiting for it to arrive). Love it so much I switched phone numbers making the Alpha my daily personal driver and my Note Edge the work phone.
