Ok, so I just switched from the iPhone 4 to the Samsung Galaxy S3. So far I can honestly say I like the iPhone better but maybe it's because I'm just not used to the Android system yet. I want to like the Galaxy but I'm just not seeing why it beats the iPhone. Maybe some tips from you folks would help. Here is what I don't like about the Galaxy:

First, Samsung's support stinks. The support reps don't even know how to move files from one folder to another or how to transfer songs from the iPhone. Finally figured that one out on my own. They told me it can't be done.

Second, why is there no resident audiobook player? I had a lot of audiobooks on the iPhone and I transferred them to the Galaxy. I downloaded a couple of players but they don't work.

Third, why can't I access music from the lock screen without entering my lock code?

Fourth, why isn't there a decent time management program available that shows me pending tasks as a text on the lock screen. I used Pocket Informant on the iPhone and loved it. The Android version sucks.

That's just for starters but any suggestions for how to make better use of the H
Galaxy would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tough luck ehh? Well for starters if you put this in the gs3 forums you would get a lot more help do maybe a mod can help you move the thread out you could just start a new one over there

As for your troubles

Music controls on the lock screen. Buy widget locker. You will fall in love. You can put any widget or you want on the lock screen. It's absolutely amazing. You can even have the number of notifications you have for messages email or whatever on the lock screen. I also heard of this app that lets you wave your hand over the screen to skip, play, and go back. Although I'm not sure what is called. Lol. Wave player maybe?

I'm sure you can download an audio book player in the play store

Download llama or tasker and you will see why android is better than the iPhone. It gives you the ability to automate your life. Make your phone turn GPS on, blue tooth on, WiFi off, and put it in driving mode when you get in your car. They are simply amazing.

Download themes, customize your launcher, add widgets, set up your phone the way you want it. Hell, if you want it to look like an iPhone name it look like an iPhone. These are the things that make androids superior. Good luck

Huh,wow. Just goes to show ya that everyone's different. I just converted my wife, an iPhone user since DAY ONE, to an sg3. One of the first things she said was "I can't believe I thought iPhones were so good." Then she said, "how much could we sell it(iPhone) for?" And the rest is history. Give it a little more time and learn what it can do. Obviously it'll do more than an iPhone, so that all takes time. Good luck.

I'll hand it to Apple, their tech support is much better than Google's, Samsung's, Motorola's, HTC's, whoever. But you'll usually get a lot of good input if you ask questions on this forum--lots of smart and savvy people here (except for me).

As for apps--people like what they're used to. There may not be the exact same app for Android that you loved on iOS, but if you look enough (and if you ask around), you will often find something just as good, if not better. In my opinion, that's part of the fun.

I think its natural, it takes time to get used to anything new. I go through this every time I get a new device. Once you get more apps and used to it you will love it !

Get back to that little Apple ware.....do it quick! Gawd forbid you run superior software a week...get that icon tray back! As for me, shove it so far away, I never want to hear another wimpy suing iPhone tragedy again.....FTN.
