Alright, so I'm getting a Nexus 7 here shortly (within the next week or two), figured I'd ask anyone who's been keeping up with the N7 (Drew especially), what's the best custom ROM for it? I was thinking about going with ParanoidAndroid's CM10 Hybrid. Also, any tablet specific apps that you recommend?

I'm already thinking of using the Nexus 7 for an eBook (Moon+ Reader, since I already use Moon+ Reader with Dropbox), Remote for my computers (Unified Remote) and a couple other things.

You could send it to me for a couple of weeks and I'll let you know which worked out best. :-P

I do indeed have one, and frankly I think you should leave it alone for a week and see how you like it. I ran stock for about two weeks and really only started flashing a couple ROMs to see how they worked. Honestly I'll be going back to stock soon.

I'll probably keep it at stock for a couple of weeks. The only reason I started flashing my OptiS was because I just can't seem to stand Froyo/GB for some reason (especially the stock, bloatfilled versions). However I'm sure I'll like it stock :3

Bugless beast would be a good choice. Pete's roms are always awesome and rock solid, hence the name.

I'll definitely keep this one in mind, thanks for the suggestion.

Pete's BB ROMs are very close to true aosp, but adds a few extras and focuses on fixing and squashing bugs

I have some friends that are sold on ROMing within the first couple of days of getting a new device. I always make them wait maybe a couple of weeks and play with the stock ROM, as it makes them appreciate what was done with the custom ROM that much more. They are also more accepting of any bugs if they were also a problem in the stock ROM. :) I will take my own advice with my next device (as I will be born-again n00b with it, I might spend all two weeks studying the process and gathering new tools.).

Heck I rooted and rommed my ns4g as soon as it was charged enough. But with a n7 I likely would wait too

My Dad bought the N7 and I thought stock was really nice, I'm not sure if I would bother putting a ROM on it...

However, when I get a new phone I'm with you guys. I think I am going to try to root it the day of LOL!
