Has anyone found a better alternative to the stock Google camera app?
There is a Sense version posted on XDA, but it has too many permissions for me to install from a unknown source. (I assume it is safe and the permissions are due to the sense components that had to be included to make it work, but not for me.)
CyanogenMod Focus looks like it could be great. They should try selling it in the Play Store to raise some money. I assume it is open and there will be some nice options evolving from it regardless.
I will probably try a couple of the more promising ones on from Play and will report back if I find any good ones.

I purchased Camera Zoom FX years ago for my Nexus S because that stock camera did not have zoom. I just loaded it again for my S4 GE so I could save my pics to SD card, which the stock camera app cannot do. There seems to be a few minor bugs but it does work and has a lot of features. Not sure how much it it now.

You can install the Sense Camera which is much better in the low light situations. The only issue is you will want a 3rd party photo gallery since it doesn't seem to like the GE Gallery app. Other than that many, many users are doing just that.
