Alternative to Moto Assist app

For thoseof us who are now having so much trouble with Assist since the various updates, is there an alternative that offers thecsame functions as the Drive mode? I'd like one that reads incoming texts as well as confirming by voice the texts I want to send. Today, Drive mode actually worked again - announced and answered an incoming call, but still not working for texts.

With the trouble I've had with Assist, I've downloaded the app Agent. I haven't had a chance to try the driving mode on it yet, but when I do, I'll report the results.
