Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to choose which apps can post to the always-on display? Alternatively, is there a way to increase the number of notifications displayed? I'm currently looking at three notification icons and a +18 icon! I can only ever see three, and often they're ones that I'm in no hurry to view, while other important ones are likely hidden by the '+' icon.

I thought that I had seen such a setting in the past, but can't seem to find it now.

Thanks for your help.

The Always On Display is its own app. You can look in Settingd for Notifications and Permissions for it or your app in question? Hope that helps?

Thanks for the reply.

In searching settings for Always On Display, these are the AOD settings I found.

Under Lock screen --> Always On Display:

Show always (toggle)
Clock style
Roaming clock
FaceWidgets: Music, Today's schedule, Next alarm, and Weather

Under Lock screen --> Notifications:

Control how notifications are shown on the Lock screen.
View style
Hide content (toggle)
Transparency
Auto-reverse text color
Show on Always on Display

Under Apps --> App info --> Always On Display --> App settings

Notifications Allowed
Permissions: No permissions reviewed
Appear on top Allowed
Change system settings Allowed

So what I can see is that I can turn notifications on or off and that I can change the way they are displayed. I can set FaceWidgets to display or not display music, calendar, alarm, and weather.

I cannot see any way to determine whether or not other apps will display notifications. I'd like to see an app list that would give me that choice for each app. I do have such a list in the Apps section. It allows me to turn notifications on or off, but it doesn't differentiate between the Notification list dropdown or the Always on Display. As far as I can tell, if I enable notifications for an app at all, the notifications will be displayed on the Always on Display.

Am I missing anything?
