Android Central Question

I am running in a treadmill with my Samsung Gear S3 and it won´t measure my distance, rythm etc. Do I necesarrily have to turn on the Samsung Health App on my phone for it to work properly? What am I doing wrong? I first press Samsung Health in my watch, then I choose the icon of the man running, then I press training, then running and finally I press "start running". Help!

I moved this to the Gear S3 forum for more specific traffic.

I don't think the sensors pick up that you are running when on a treadmill. You may need to be actually moving rather than staying in the same place. Also moving your arms as when running outside.

You should be using the "treadmill" selection. And no, it can't detect your distance, because you haven't gone anywhere. Use the treadmill's features to determine your distance.
