This isn't a hate or fanboy article, just my honest observations of the Sony Xperia X and X Performance.
Let me know what you think or if I'm being unreasonable.
PROS
Incredible 2 day battery
Premium materials
Very good camera
Dedicated camera button
Improved software
CONS
Same old design used in the last few xperia phones
"Omni balance" huge top and bottom bezels- HTC got criticized for the black bar, but the huge space at top and bottom of phone is iPhone-esque, and very unattractive in my opinion
No fingerprint scanner in 2016
"performance edition" is the exact same with improved processor, no sharper screen or other improved specs
1080p screen in 2016- even though it is fine, and improves battery life, it seems a bit underwhelming
Odd button placement, though I guess that's just my preference
Bottom Line- It seems like Sony played it safe again with the same design they have used for the past two years. If a company like Samsung or HTC launched this phone, they would be killed for it, like when the M9 was "too similar" to the M8. (I never heard tech reviewers say the iPhone 6s was too similar to the 6, but that's the power of Apple's brand.) Anyways, let me know what you think. I would still love to see these phones in US though, and I'd like to see Sony bounce back. For some reason though, I think they missed a critical opportunity with these phones.
