So i've had my X for about two and a half weeks now. I would typically get anywhere from 8-10 hours a day on a full charge. So last night i plug it in before i go to bed, wake up and figure i'll turn the phone off for about 20 minutes while i get ready for work....i had a few weird things going on, and its only been off a few times since i got it, including a few bump charges i did the first few days. I kept my phone on the charger while off, just for the hell of it...

So i turn on the phone and head to work. Typical day, lots of google talk, some internet surfing, a bunch of texts. Around noon i notice my battery is at 70%, usually its about 40 by then. So i was pretty impressed, but still fully expected to have to charge it when i got home at 430 as usual.

Well i go about my day, keeping an eye on my battery in absolute amazement. I get home and its 60%. As i type this right now, the battery is at 40%...i'm over 12 and a half hours in! I don't know if the 20 minutes on the charger while off had anything to do with this...but it's the only thing i did different today...

So if you're having battery issues give this a shot...at this rate i am going to see my battery life double!

Glad to hear it. I just got the extended battery, and wow... Seriously good battery life.

I suspect turning it off and back on may have killed some errant process in the background that was reducing your battery life. If you get worse battery life again, try the "reboot".

I pounded my X hard today just to test it out because I've been noticing better life out of the battery too. When I say pounded, I'm talking youtube, browsing, facebook, games, twitter and honestly had the display going for probably 2 hours straight and was at 11 hours since being unplugged and it was at 15% when I finally plugged it back in. This is very pleasing to me.

Alright...down to 15% now, phone haas been going strong for 15 hours...display, 88%, has been on over 4 and a half hours! I hope this keeps up!

My battery life has improved as well! Used to drop to 30 or 40 after about 6 hours requiring a charge. While i was at work... i haven't needed to charge it the past couple days at work. Pretty awesome. I think it has something to do with me not playing with it as much as when i first got it :p

I'm sitting right now, at 80% charge after 24 hours off the charger. I've used my screen for a total of 37 minutes causing Display to consume approx 35% battery life. The rest is split between Cell Standby (~50%) and Phone Idle (15%)

I mean, aside from the 36 minutes of me browsing the web and running some apps, the phones been idle.

If you make long calls, this will kill your battery. If you have the screen on with brightness set to anything but minimum, it will kill your battery.

The biggest reason people were reporting 5-8 hour battery life is because of the first time users who couldn't put their phone down/turn the screen off. Now that the amazement has died down people will get their phones back into normal usage thereby drastically increasing battery life.

So day 2...got just a little over 12 hours today, and we had a birthday party for my son...i took 3 videos and about 60 pictures...still feeling great about the battery...with that kind of usage last month my battery probably would have exploded

I tried this out today and wow it def worked!!! I unplugged today when I got up then turned off the phone that said fully charged. I then plugged it back in while it was off and took a shower and got ready for work. It was left on charge for about a half hour then I turned it back on and went to work. Doing my daily X things today Im now at 14 hours with still 50%. By this time without doing this I'm down around 15%. I'm going to try this out all week and see what I can get.

This sounds like the fix for the incredible. That was a pain in the A$$ because usually when I wake up I'm answering texts already and most of the time I don't even take 30 min to get around for work. Why would it be that some of the phones have good battery and some don't. If this trick got me more battery life I would be amazed because I can get a good 14 to 16+ hrs out of my phone. Think this would get me even more?

Good stuff...I'm glad this worked out for you too. I haven't done it in a few days and have had gotten about 15 hours a day. I powered down last night and charged, so I'll see how it gites today

I honestly don't know if you would...14-16 I think is pretty good...and that's what I'm getting now afterdoing it. Before I was at 8 to 10. Give it a shot though, couldn't hurt right?

Sorry, this just isn't the case after having the phone for nearly a month. There's other issues here. Be thankful yours magically works as it should.

So today had been my best day so far. I powered down yesterday, got about 12 hours, but heavy use...charged as normal overnight, been a normal day...actually more calls than usual. Battery just hit 30% after 15 hours 51 minutes...
