I belive samsung changed the MHL adapter for the SIII, the old ones wont work??

That is correct, the S3 needs a special mhl, the one that worked in previous phones won't work with the s3

they've made an adapter so it's backwards compatible. Comes free when you buy the old one or you can buy for like $10

It would be cool if you could do wireless HDMI mirroring on an HDTV. Then I might scrap my plans to get an Apple TV to do the same thing with my Macbook Air and iPad. There wouldn't be any stupid content restrictions as I suspect will be the case with Apple.

Oh crap. I just bought the old one off of Amazon then. Should have known $15 was too good to be true. Not sure if I will return it and get the new one or just add an adapter. Not really into adding bulk to my stuff.

Awesome, I'll be all over that adapter when it's released. That adapter appears to be very similar to Intel's WiDi technology which is exactly what I'm looking for.
