Hello. I used this wonderful forum ;) to "sideload" The Amazon Appstore on My HTC Inspire 4G...now since there was a recent update to it, I keep getting a notification that says there is an upgrade available...but since I am on ATT and i "sideloaded" the App when I try to it doesnt let me!!!

Now I cant get rid of this notification and if i uninstall the Amazon AppStore games like Angry Birds Rio dont work...weird....

but anyway does anyone have a suggestion to a solution? Or a way to disable the app from wanting to upgrade so I dont get the notification every 30 seconds?

THanks:cool:

If you're using Sideload Wonder Machine, there's a button on it to update. Download the updated .apk, run SWM, and choose the update option after selecting the .apk

I usually uninstall Amazon Appstore from Settings > Applications and later "sideload" the Amazon Appstore using AC-SWM.

I don't find "Update" in AC-SWM. Can you provide more details?

On the AC-SWM window, on the lower left side of the screen, you have the Choose APK button, the Install button (which is grayed out until you choose apk), and an Update Existing App checkbox. I just installed an app and it reminds you in the window after you choose the apk to check that box if you're updating an existing app.

BTW my SWM version is 1.2. If you're using an older one it may be completely different.

Kinda hard to download the updated .apk to the Amazon Appstore when the .apk it downloads after uninstalling is the original verision I had installed.

Finally got it. You need to search for vnz64238 in the cache folder for the amazon appstore and put it on your computer, then proceed to update it per pazzo02's instructions. If you don't have version 1.2 of SWM, you need to get it to have this work.

Thank You So Much. I was wondering how I was going to update it when the only .apk available is the original!!! Ima try this now!! :)

I checked my cache and I do not have vnz64268.apk there. Is there a way to download it from somewhere?
I got it by clicking update within the Appstore and backing out after it told me unknown sources was blocked. I have attached the apk to this message for ya.

A big headache resolved... Thanks for attaching the apk. I still don't know how to do it, but it doesn't matter anymore. I used your attached file.

Once again, I want to thank you and many other members like you who help others with nothing to gain and of course to the forum owners who maintain this wonderful resource!
