Normally I buy Cruzerlite cases for my phones, and just got a new XZ2 so went to buy the case from Amazon like every other phone, Amazon didn't have it in stock but they did from a third party, no big deal.
The case came and it was lower quality than my last few, but it came in proper Cruzerlite packaging like my old cases,, and referenced the same company and web addresses to the old cases packaging but notably the product description mentioned the android mascot, which was not present on the case (or in the item description)
I then search Google and find out Cruzerlite has not been trading for a year or so because it's owner died in a car crash and none of the website, facebook or other social media are in use anymore, despite being mentioned all over the case.
Has someone really bought up a whole load of old Cruzerlite packaging that was not used and started putting generic cases in them and then using the name to make some profit by listing them on Amazon.
Surely there is some issues as well with packaging stuff up and selling it with details of a manufacture that no longer exists and no actual manufacturer who you can contact for any defects?
Or has someone bought the name? Either way it's not very transparent and I feel conned thinking I was getting a decent case when it's just a cheap one that is retailing for virtually nothing on AliExpress.
