Just read an article about being able to download to an SD card or internal storage. No sure if it is common knowledge. Nice to be able to watch if no able to be online!

Seems as though Amazon is proprietary. Can only watch through their app! Can watch offline it seems, but only for specified time frame.
I tried multiple video players and did not work. Also endless searches for answers. Don't know why it enables you to download to an SD card, then restrict it!

Because if they didn't restrict it, you and others would stop paying for the service?

YouTube does this as well. The videos are downloaded in multiple, encrypted files that can only be read by the app. The purpose for offline playback is not so you can share the files with your friends, it's to allow people to cache videos locally in case they are going to a location with little to no internet... Taking a flight, going camping, etc.

This is common. Just like when you download a Google play music playlist from the subscription... You have it use their app. Otherwise people would subscribe for a month, download like it's a buffet, and un-subscribe. It wouldn't work out well for makers of the content.
