News Amazon will suspend support for its Appstore on Android

This sounds like the beginning o the other way around too. Completely blocking native Android apps for those with Fire devices. Bad move on their part IMO.

They aren't amazing but are good value for what they are, or rather were. This is going to turn their devices back into e-readers with internet, which they've now stripped downloading of too.

They are on a war path.

[Amazon] has decided to take this step with Android devices as the company is looking inward and wants to focus its efforts "on the Appstore experience on our own devices, as that’s where the overwhelming majority of our customers currently engage with it.”

Why would I ever bother with the Amazon's app store for Android, when it won't even work on most Andrids? The Kindle Fire run Android, so apps for the Fire must be Android apps anyway. So, why not just keep letting us use the Amazon app store on any old Android?

The Amazon app store is a joke now (if it wasn't already). Sad.
