Being my first Pixel, I have to ask.

Has anyone experienced burn-in from having the ambient display notification always on? I have mine turned off but would like to have it on without worry.
Thanks for any feedback.

None.... Didn't have any on my 2XL after one year either.

Same as Mike.
None on my 3xl and had none on my 2xl
It's one of the features I really enjoy.

I keep it off primarily because I'm worried about burn in
I forgot to mention that the AOD moves around slightly to prevent that.
Really? I had it on for a but but didn't realize this...it must be so minimal

You can see it if you watch it for awhile

Mike, i get the impression you become really intimate with your device...this is a whole other level of love and appreciate :P

Kidding bud, appreciate the insight

I've never had burn in issues with always on display.

Neither have I. I've had burn in on one device and image retention on another (like burn in but not permanent). I had brunch in on a Galaxy S3, and image retention on one of my Motorola phones (either a Droid Maxx or Turbo). But to be fair, the displays in those phones are bear skins and stone knives compared to the units in our phones today.

While some experienced burn in (or possibly just image retention) on last year's 2XL display, it may have been due to the fact that last year was LG's first widely released OLED panel, so I'm sure there were some teething problems.

I'm glad Google went with Samsung for the display this time around. Of course even Samsung is susceptible to burn in /image retention. But the screen is much better now on the P3/P3XL.

2 years of AOD always on in my previous Samsung (S7 Edge) left no burn in. I won't expect it on this either.

No...I just remember when that was implemented for certain devices. Hang around here long enough and you are bound to learn about things you never new existed.

The regular Pixel 3 uses an LG display panel.
