Anyone have any experience with these cases (hard and gel)? Description says the hard case adds "a tad over 3mm" to the thickness. I'm guessing that means the case itself is 1.5mm thick (adding that much, front and back). Does the Seidio add 2mm total, or 1mm total?

I know this isn't exactly answering your question, but Amzer's stuff is made out've much cheaper material than Seido, and probably won't hold up when you drop your phone bad.

Is this something you've made up due to a personal dislike or irrational loathing of amzer or rather is that the general consensus and I can look up comments somewhere and verify.

Amzer cases

That was harsh....look around the web if you want to verify.

Amzer certainly has it's followers, but the two companies I see cited most often for cases are Otterbox and Seidio (in that order).

Unfortunately Otterbox doesn't have a case for the Evo scheduled yet :(

i was toying with the idea of getting one of these Sprint silicone skin gel cases. but i have major concerns about dirt, dust, lint, and grit constantly accumulating inside and on the case.

My seido case did this to my htc touch pro (the 1st one).... left permanent marks around the screen where dirt had accumulated. I took it off and cleaned it every week too... which wore the plastic down in 7 months.

I apologize if I came off that way. Really wasn't my intentions.

I've done some research (following 6 forums no less) and lots point to amzer and seidio.

Its just that for me personally , I don't want a hard case. But as always , thanks for any and all info bro.

Oh no I have nothing against Amzer, I myself was in the same boat as you a week ago, but I did some research on everything out there and what I found was that the Amzer was the cheapest, Seido is pretty good, and Otterbox is the best (however unavailable at the moment).

I think AMZER has the best Silicon Case out there and the price is also the best. not like sprint charging me a fortune for it.
High recommend the AMZER Silicon Case for HTC Evo.

I love my amzer silicone case in black. the sprint silicone was slippery and didnt fit well and the amzer case not only fits well it has a texture to it.
theres a nice area for your fingers to grip it and a raised area to protect the back and camera. you have to see the pics of it to understand what i mean.
it also comes up high enough along the sides so that your fingers dont accidentally touch the screen plus it covers over the seam or edge of the screen.

i dont know about the argyle cases.

the argyle case is a thicker grippy stiffer type of silicone/gel case. i had one on my hero and i loved it. def more durable than the regular silicone cases since its stiffer but flexible. it fits like a glove. doesnt move around like a silicone.

well, mine isn't supposed to ship until today so i will try to remember to report back to you guys. i ordered the argyle case. in the mean time i have the $14 HTC case from the Sprint store on my phone as i did my Hero and i really have to problems with it.

Ordered mine monday, says in transit, i'll report back in next week i think about how it looks/feel. I got the luxe case in orange btw.

I just got an Amzer case from Amazon and it's pretty decent. I'm still waiting on my Seidio Limited Edition, so I'll be able to compare apples to apples once it arrives.

I've had my Amzer silicone case since Monday and love it. I've had an argyle case on order for a few weeks now so not sure what is up with that one. Keeps getting pushed back.

yeah, mine was delayed again. anyone else order from fommy.com and are still waiting? i ordered mine on the 6th.

The Amzer Argyle case looks great, but then I learned it was only flexible plastic and not hard plastic (not terrible), and I don't think it actually protects the lens, does it? We need some real-world confirmation on that, since it would seem silly to have a case that still lets the Evo rest on the lens.
