An android app-service that actually works for parental control, time limits, etc for kids?

I've tried quite a few apps for parental control on kids devices.. but so far none really seem to work, or they work at one point then stop working and have buts..

I like the features of safe lagoon, however the app frequently signs out leaving the device unprotected.. with no solution.

I've tried others but nothing came close to what should have worked.. things like filtering, monitoring.. sms tracking.. app blocking.. and time limits that prevent games from being play after a certain limit is hit.

Has anyone found a solution that actually works in the long run and works outside of the home as well (some wifi solutions are nice but when not at home its not much of a solution).

Have you tried Google Family Link? Google Family Link - Home It works pretty well, although it requires devices that have Nougat or above. It's also intended for younger kids, which means it comes with YouTube Kids (not the full YouTube), so that might cause no end of grumbling from older kids.
