After a brief two week or so sojourn with a Nexus S, I'm back on a MT4G for good. (I had to pay full retail, but Nexi are currently going for around $500 on ebay so I'll make some money back)

I was just really dissatisfied with the Nexus. It wasn't a smooth experience after living with it for a while, and I kept getting random slow-downs and force closes. (as well as the dreaded reboot) As bad as it sounds, it really feels like it was rushed out the door before it was ready, and I just couldn't live with it.

So I'm back!

Welcome back! I had considered getting it as a second line, but I think I'll just wait for the HTC Pyramid. Loving my MT4G.

Haha. I was actually pretty impressed with the hardware, which surprised me since I know how many people loathe Samsung quality. It actually reminded me a A LOT of the iPhone 3G/3GS, without the real metal trim, but with a generally good in hand feel.

The biggest issue, though, was that Gingerbread as an OS is NOT ready for primetime. Its buggy as hell, and I was constantly getting unexplained hangs and general slow-ness. (that's not to say that I don't get that on the MT4G; mine got really bogged down tonight for no apparent reason) I liked the updated UI, especially the general 'square-ness' and lack of squircles and cartoony-ness, but that can't overcome the mediocrity that is the core experience.

I did the opposite.
Went from a Nexus One to a G2 (kept the N1 for a backup).
Had that for a couple weeks till about day two of the Nexus S release.
Sold the G2 and bought the Nexus S.
Had the Nexus S for a week, didnt like it and returned it to Best Buy.
Same day went on Craigslist and found a brand new MyTouch 4g.
Had that since.
Once I got the Skyfire browser off the market I was able to ignore the
rest of the horrid bloatware.
