And now comes the accessory authentication chip?

I'm not too upset about the cables. I prefer oem, keeps the battery running in tip top shape. Not a fan of the s view cases, less protection against falls, so that won't hurt me either. As long as my s beam/nfc works with any case on my phone, I'm good.

I do feel for the people on the s view, but understand what Samsung wants to do too.

Palm Treo line > Blackberry line > Samsung Galaxy S line > NOW - the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 😊

The chip is getting necessary to prevent shoddy fake batteries and cables from damaging phones. Then users trash Samsung for bad products when THEY chose to buy fake batteries and cables. I however do not agree that Samsung should be applying this to cases of any kind at all. Apple gets away with it and those ibone users bend over and take it like the sheep they are.

Maybe people wouldn't have to buy cheap cables if when you spend ?35 on a Samsung desk dock they actually provided one with it.
