Because I just bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 (pebble blue with an otter box commuter case, it is beautiful!) and upon phone setup I enter my gmail account information, and a few minutes later Wa-laa, all my contacts, calendar events, pictures, and music are available on my brand new phone before I even get out of the store! Gotta Love It! :D

Same. A friend has an iPhone. Had to get it replaced and lost all of his contacts

I hated the syncing process with th iPhone and the nightmare I had with duplicate & triples of my contacts it would create when setting up the phone. My yahoo address book was a disaster. Moved to Google and a droid x at first and life became nice again. Have th:)e gs3 now and loving it. Just not to happy with the Swype feature. Droid X had that feature nailed.

You mean that Apple / iOS doesn't store contacts in the cloud?? I thought for some reason that all phones had cloud services where you didn't lose contacts and such....I guess not.

I agree about the Samsung version of Swype, but just download the latest real Swype beta and you'll be happy again.
