android 12

Guys everything I see online the LG v60 isn't getting android 12 update. Anyone on here know different thats big into the android stuff?

I'm generally of the belief that every Android update is better than the next, and personally hoping the V60 doesn't get 12. It seems like every update removes useful features but gives nothing in return. It's bad enough now that I don't even trust basic security updates. They use to be benign, but the one I got a couple weeks ago included a forced update to Chrome that severely hampered usability to the point Google was being flooded with complaints. Of course Google, being Google, ignored the complaints and removed a workaround that had been in place. I had been ignoring that app update so I could still use it, but now forced to another browser.

Yep and with scoped storage, you can no longer get into the Android folder with the built in file explorer to remove the remnants of old apps you've uninstalled, so the excess scrap files over time take up space, slow your device down... and in some cases might possibly even leave malicious files behind. I bet the app developers are loving this, they can hide whatever they want from you to track you etc, and there's not a darn thing you can do about it.

Except try and find a file explorer through the Play Store that can get through Google's restrictions... and also one you can trust, since Google does a horrible job of keeping malicious apps out of the Play Store. And file explorers tend to be more highly infected. Talk about a rock and a hard place

My phone works great. So if we dont get i am ok with that. But if we do get it id rather have it late so we get a less buggy version.
