Android 4.4.2 and phone calls

Has anyone noticed that ever since the 4.4.2 update, you can't make calls unless your connected to 4g? I've read on google forums saying that a lot of people can't make phone calls unless your in an area that has 4g. However, changing the band's to only 3g fixes this problem. My nexus 5 is doing this and I'm wondering if I'm the only one. Considering an RMA.

What carrier is your phone on? I'm on T-Mobile and I can make phone calls just fine when I'm on 3g or EDGE. The APN is set to connect to LTE when available.
