Android 5.1 malware hiding and changing my phone number when I call someoane

Vodaphone Smart Speed phone, Android 5.1 . When I call someone, sometimes is showing my phone number, other times is hiding or showing other numbers, different ones. What can I do? I did reset the phone, is the same.

Hi there,

I doubt this is a problem with your phone, as caller ID features are handled solely by your network. If they're using VoIP, sometimes the number that shows up on the receiver's end is not yours if they're not doing it 'properly' (the carrier, not you or the receiver). You can check your carrier's settings under the Advanced section of the Settings on your Phone app, but that, I believe, would only show if you want to show your number or not to callers. You can try turning that off and turning it back on to see if something resets on the carrier's side, but if not, that's something that very likely you should check with your carrier.

Have you tried the same SIM card on a different phone? I'm pretty sure the issue will be there as well if you do.
