Android 7.0 Native Camera Issue

[AC Question]

I can open the camera app but anytime I click the icon on the screen to record video or to rotate to front facing camera, it just takes a picture as if i just clicked in the middle of the screen. I tried rebooting. I also tried a factory reset but I chose to keep my apps so that may be why the reset didnt fix it. But now since the reset every time I open the camera app it shows the "how to take a photo" tip and gives the option to click next at the bottom of the screen, but when i try to click next it wont register, I actualy have to click back to get to the normal camera screen. basically when I open my camera app I cannot click anything on the screen, it will just register as taking a picture.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? There's no "native camera" for Nougat -- it's the phone manufacturer that designs the camera app (unless they use Google's own Camera app).
