After upgrading my phone to one with Android 8, when I place a call or receive a call that is in my contact list, it does not show the name or photo like it used to. I've spoke to a few others and they have the same problem. Although, every once in a while, it does work but I don't know the pattern. All my contacts are contained on an Exchange account, not google. This was not an issue with Android 7 or earlier.

Thanks!

They can't be entered into the Contacts app as Exchange contacts, you don't get that choice. Are they entered as Google contacts (the first item in a contact)?

If you're calling them from an Exchange type app, the phone has nowhere to look the number up - it looks in the Contacts app - so you get a blank name. "Every once in a while" leads me to suspect that you have a few of your contacts in the Contacts app, but not most of them. Even if it's more convenient for you to use your Exchange app to call people, if you want to see the caller's name, you'll have to add them to the Contacts app. While the Exchange app may run in Android, Android doesn't know about the app, so it doesn't look there for information on incoming calls.
