Which ones do you guys use? Sound off below.

I used to use AVG. Solid app, but kept on not getting any results, although it would flag apps that might be excessive in ads.

From an AOSP M8

I only use Lookout because of the Jump! program. If it wasn't included in my phone, I probably wouldn't use it, but it's nice to have that 'take picture of someone trying to unlock your phone without permission', for instance.

I rock Lookout as my main antivirus app.

Mav.

Sent from my Sprint Tri-Band Nexus 6.

I use McAfee and Malwarebytes....and of course, Android OS, which I believe does a good job in itself. :)

Not using any at the moment, but I used Lookout since it was free with T-Mobile. Then I tried out Malwarebytes since that's what I use on my desktop, but also got rid of that since it's not really necessary with my usage.

I'm current just started using Trend as it was free after a cash-back offer. Supposedly it used to be $99. Prior to that I was on Norton.

Trend seem to spam a lot of notification to the point its sort of annoying. Other than that its really difficult to know what they exactly do in the background, and how good they are at it.

Install Common Sense. Use it at all times.
Install software only from completely trustworthy sources.
In Security settings leave Unknown sources disabled.
Watch the permissions of apps you install. Don't install anything that wants to access anything it has no need to. For example a flashlight app that wants access to your contacts.

These simple rules are much more effective than antivirus apps. The biggest security risk to Android is Android users. Or users can be the biggest security asset. Be a smart user

There's no need for antivirus apps, which are ineffective anyway.

Android since v1.0. Linux since 2001
