Being as I am a returning android user. Ive been using car play for the last couple years, Is android auto always terrible sounding when it comes to the assistant and the maps voice? just sounds very low quality. I hope when Gemini comes to AA this issue is no longer there.

2021 Maxda CX-30 with P9PXL. I have no issues with audio quality or it sounding low at all. It's loud and very clear. Have you tried adjusting audio setting while using Android Auto, not just the default audio on the phone itself?

What are your setting set to.

Best I can remember, bring up the menu for Android Auto in your Mazda. It should be scroll all the way down using your dial until you see the 9 dots. Click over to the aqpps ohn the right, and then there is a Settings Icon. Try going through the settings or the car and also, there is a setting for more Android Auot settings on your phone. Check your audio in both areas and possibly even in your standard Mazda settings under Communications.

I didn't really have to do much for mine other than making it a bit louder, but mine plays loud and clear.

It's clear but the assistant and maps just don't sound nowhere as polished as Apple maps and Siri.

I see what you're saying. I can't say how that may sound in your vehicle. Mine is clear and precise. My daughter has an iPhone 15 Pro that she uses in her Jeep Wrangler w/Apple CarPlay. I don't notice hers sounding any more polished than what mind sounds like. Wish I had more to comment on. Perhaps you have a preference for iOS and CarPlay maybe.

Just that aspect I'm mentioning. The voice sounds less like ai and more like a person.

Was that for Google Assistant or maps? If maps, does that voice red Street name?
Just noticed you mentioned Maps. I use Waze over Maps so I"m wondering if that makes a difference? When I changed the voice for Assistant, it also is the voice for navigation for Waze. It's like all encompassing. Perhaps with the shift towards Gemini.
