Android Auto app compatibility

Is the Android Auto app compatible with a 2016 Subaru Forester head unit and the LG K8 (2017)? If it will work, then what do I need to do?

No, the headunit must have Android Auto support built in. For Subaru, the only cars that have AA support are 2017 model of Imprezas. Other models will wait for 2018 model year to get this support.
