I got a 2019 Kia Sportage over the weekend. It has Android auto which I set up. 2 questions
1) I got it to send a text message, but, when I receive a text, it pops up on the screen with a button to play and when I hit play the google bar pops up with the colored bubble types things but I hear nothing, it doesn't actually read the text and the bar stays up until I touch somewhere else on the screen. I can't for the lie of me figure out what the issue is, any ideas?
and
2) I used my iPod for music, have forever, to us Auto you have to have the phone plugged into the only USB port. Any way to split the USB so I can plug both in at the same time? It also has an AUX jack, but, obviously than I wouldn't be able to control the iPod through the radio controls.

1. Sounds like you can't connect to Google cloud at that time.

2. No way.

Why would I need to connect to Google cloud to read the text message? I did some more digging last night and it seems to be some type of bug that they are aware of, but, it had a couple work arounds. I tried one which didn't help and will try the other later.

Re: Android Auto & Galaxy S9 and iPod help

Because reading of that is Google Assistant function that needs to be online.
Or since this is a Samsung phone, did you have Google Assistant installed?

Oh ok. Yes, Google assistant is installed.

I think Android Auto is having some issues, my wife says her podcasts won't play on spotify. She has to go into the app on her phone to play them. Then yesterday the head unit said USB disconnected but I am guessing that is due to cable failure. And we have a 2019 Kia Sorrento.

I think Samsung's Car Mode can work offline, it's very similar to Android Auto but uses MirrorLink instead. It's been around before Android Auto and will work with cars not compatible with Auto via BT I think.

Oh interesting! How do I enable that? I can't find it.
