Android Auto hears itself in the car.

Tried out Android Auto now that I can run it direct on my phone. I do have it running through the car's Bluetooth. When I try to give it voice commands, it can hear it's own responses which confuses it. One solution I have found is if I turn down the audio enough, it won't hear itself anymore, but this seems like a silly solution. Does anyone know how to correct this? It's crazy that's its not programmed to wait till it's done speaking before listening for my response!
