AC Question

Car is a new 2016 GT Premium Note 4 (Verizon) running 6.0 and I'm trying to get Android Auto to work. (I need google map on this thing; thought it had nav but boy, was I wrong.)

My understanding is that it requires "Android Auto" to be enabled on the car sync 3 system.

I have it on my phone. The problem is that I cannot find that icon on the radio in settings or what have you.

The head unit recognizes when it's hooked up to my phone; plays the music in there with no problem.

But AA tells me to hook up my phone as part of the set up even when it IS hooked up, using the Samsung supplied power cord and bluetooth.

The head unit sees the phone. The phone, for purposes of AA, doesn't seem to see the head unit.

I've heard of an update for 2016 sync 3 setups, and have enabled wifi at my house with automatic updates.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to push the update to the head unit? Am I sol?

Thanks!

not releasing it for the 2016 cars until "the end of the year" my guess is we don't get it at all

Until last week they said they would "update us with more info this summer", that was recently removed from their site, but is now replaced with how to turn on android auto, so I would say its coming out any day, or its delayed, if it was delayed I would 3xpect they would have changed it to "coming soon" or somthing, but who knows.
