Android Auto Platform

[AC Question]

Can anyone tell me if Android Auto Platform only allow to be supported off a 7 inch head unit. If so will it ever be upgraded so it can run off a 8 or 9 inch head unit.

My 2016 vette has an 8 inch display and runs AA. I don't think it matters what size the screen is rather it's the DMI (Or perhaps HMI, I forget the letters) unit that drives the display that must have the required hardware/software. For vette's in particular, the 2014 and 2015 models lack the appropriate hardware (and perhaps software) for AA but the 2016 had the hardware but needed a software (firmware I believe) update. I updated mine at the dealer and away I went.
