Android Auto sound volume much lower than system volume

I just started using AA, and like the setup. However, I cant get the volume either on google maps or google music loud enough. It will go yo about 50% of the my normal car audio levels. My phone volume is turned up. Any suggestions ?

I am glad (or sad) to find that I am not the only one having this issue. I have Note 4 and when it is connected through Android Auto, I could not make volume of any app as loud as 50% of maximum I can get from the phone without Android Auto. I googled it for a while to find the solution and didn't have any luck. So, if I want to make volume louder, I disconnect Android Auto (by pulling out the USB cable) and use the Bluetooth connection instead.
