Android auto starts on phone but black screen in car

[AC Question]

So I have Samsung Galaxy S5 and also tried a nexus 6p both running stock 6.0... I have a vauxhall corsa (opel in europe) with the intellilink 4.0 system in it which is compatible with android auto.

Sometimes I will plug it in and everything will work perfectly but more often than not android auto will load up on the phone but on the cars screen, just a black display... Any suggestions?

If I had to guess, I'd say recent troubles with Samsung phones and Marshmallow is the culprit.

Try a different (better?) USB cable. AA seems to like some cables better than others.

Had this issue while my S6 was still running 5.1.1

In order for it to work again I had to clear data cache for all apps used by AA...but even then it would randomly come back. Good luck, even factory reset didn't help my situation. Changing cable didn't help either.
