I've set my android beam for nfc transfer on but it does not seem to be working. I've tried transferring photos to my wife S5 but nothing happens. I also do not see the nfc icon in notifications. Does anyone else seem to be having this problem? Is there a solution?

I've transferred a few things TO my 6P from my Moto X using Beam, it can be a little tricky to keep the phones in just the right position. I don't recall seeing the NFC icon, you'll see a pop-up notification on the screen and it'll show the progress of the transfer.

I use to see the icon on my Note 4. I've been trying and trying and there is no indication that at it is working.

It's working on both my husband's and my Nexus 6p here. I've transferred photos between phones and between my phone and my Nexus 7. Make sure you have both NFC & Android Beam turned on in settings.

You might have gotten a bad phone, if you can't get it to work, I'd RMA.

How are you lining up your phone to another phone. Are you connecting via the glass screen? I heard because of the metal housing you have to connect through the glass strip.

just tried it sending an MP3 from my 6p to my nexus 5, worked fine.

held the back glass visor of n6p to about the mid point of the back of the n5.

On the 6p to 6p, I just put them visor to visor, no clinking!

When I did 6p to Nexus 7, think I put the 6p crosswise across the top back of the tablet if I remember rightly. Had to play with that, different devices can get tricky.

Try it with a non-samsung phone. I've always had issues using beam from my phones to friends Sammys.

I realize I have to tap the other phone from the glass bar. Probably because of the aluminum case. Anyway it works just fine.

I just tried to use beam the other day to transfer photos from my 6p to my wife's Note 3 and I couldn't get it to work... I've had issues before trying to get our samsung's to work but I didn't think to the lineup the glass strip at the top of the 6p with the middle of the note I'll have to try that next time.

Doesn't Samsung do their own version of beam that uses a direct wifi connection versus how Google's Android beam which I believe is bluetooth? I haven't had luck transferring to Samsung in a very long time.
