Android Chrome loading bar

Has anyone else noticed this changing recently? It used to be a clear light blue line against white/grey that you could see from a couple of feet away. Now it seems to be half the width and blue on light blue?! You have to squint really closely to tell if it's actually moving.
Why do they do this sort of thing? I hope it's not part of the new material design look.

Hadn't noticed and I really don't recall how it was before... Never really look at the loading progress. But yeah, I'm not the greatest Material Design fan.
